My Journey to Becoming a Doula
Value of Family
I have always been passionate about supporting new moms as they transition into motherhood. Family has always been at the center of my heart, and from a young age I worked in a variety of fields where I witnessed firsthand the struggles families face—especially when navigating a medical system that often leaves them feeling abandoned, overwhelmed, and hopeless.
My Birth and Postpartum Journey
It wasn’t until I became a mother myself that I truly understood the depth of that struggle. With my first daughter, I was told I “had to” go through a series of interventions to give birth. I was left confused, powerless, and like I didn’t have a voice in what happened to my own body. That experience shook me to my core and took a huge toll on my mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health. Postpartum, I carried the heavy lie that I wasn’t good enough to be a mom—and because asking for help felt like failure, I suffered in silence.
My journey led me through a dark season of postpartum depression and even hospitalization. But it was also during that time that I discovered the healing power of support, community, and mental wellness.
When we hired a postpartum doula, everything shifted. She walked alongside me with compassion, guided me to advocate for myself, and reminded me that caring for my own needs was not selfish, but essential. Her support changed my life.
My True Calling
Today, I bring both my personal journey and professional training into my work as a childbirth educator and doula. My mission is to offer new moms the support, education, and empowerment that I once longed for—to help them reclaim the power that is so often stripped away in the medical system. I walk with women and families not only to prepare for birth, but also to protect their mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness as they step into motherhood.
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me.” (Psalm 28:7
Because no mother should have to do this alone.

History of Little Flower Birth Services
-
In October 2024, I decided to follow my heart’s desire and start a doula practice. As I began to research different doula trainings, I chose the International Doula Institute because it seemed to offer the best structure for learning what a doula is and how to best serve potential clients.
-
I have always had a devotion to St. Therese Lisioux and decided to make her the patron saint of my business to help guide me to serve the families that I am working for with small acts centered in great love.
-
In December 2024, I started my LLC, officially starting my business serving women and men in Dallas/Fort Worth
-
In June 2025, I became certified through expert rating as a certified doula, only growing my practice, allowing clients to be reimbursed through Carrot fertility. I hope to continue getting certifications and continuing my education as my practice grows, so I can serve more families.
